I hold a Natural England Class 2 license for the surveying of bats. With over 18 years experience, I am competent in completing evidence-focused PRA's; writing detailed reports; undertaking sonogram analysis, and conducting activity surveys - including with the use of  IR and TI camera systems.

I also have experience of monitoring dormice, GCN, badgers, skylarks (MSc dissertation), water voles and reptiles. I have a CSCS card, full PPE, a range of inspection cameras, and am ready to undertake all types of ECoW tasks.

Minimise costly disruption and the risk of prosecution by commissioning me to undertake an Ecological Watching Brief during your construction work.

I provide a pragmatic, positive, and hands-on approach to help construction clients achieve their aims and objectives regarding planning compliance and relevant environmental legislation.

On-site support, advise and supervision will help prepare for and identify potential problems – whether it be the unexpected presence of bats, amphibians, reptiles, and nesting birds – and allow clients to adapt in a timely and cost-effective manner, to ensure both the protection of wildlife and the meeting of legal obligations.

From searches and clearance, to capture and re-location, the presence of a pro-active ecologist on site offers an enhanced level of surety.  Tasks that could help you:

  • Vital checks prior to works

  • Focused toolbox talks to ensure all site staff have the necessary knowledge and further instructions pertaining to protected species

  • Effectively identify, action, and manage risks associated with wildlife-related situations

I adapt a flexible work ethic, including short-notice requests and a willingness to travel.

Please get in touch to see how I may help.
